StimRouter PNS Axillary procedure
The StimRouter lead is implanted during a minimally invasive outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. The StimRouter procedure is less invasive than surgical options such as spinal cord stimulation and there is no implanted pulse generator as the StimRouter electric field conductor resides outside the body. StimRouter’s conditional-MRI safety minimizes restrictions on future diagnostic tests.
Types of pain treated by StimRouter PNS
StimRouter is indicated for pain management in adults who have severe intractable chronic pain of peripheral nerve origin, as an adjunct to other modes of therapy (e.g., medications). The StimRouter is not intended to treat pain in the craniofacial region. Because the device is so small, it can be implanted in many locations across the arms, legs, and torso to provide targeted relief for your symptoms.
Applications may include chronic pain conditions located at or relating to:
- Upper or lower limbs
- Entrapment syndromes
- Intercostal neuralgias
- Other peripheral injuries or diseases
Programming the pain away
The StimRouter’s programming system is designed to be simple and intuitive. The user interface features simple navigation and easy to use buttons, tabs, and drop-down menus. Your doctor will program your system with different settings to help you get optimal relief.
The clinician programmer stores patient stimulation information and usage data for easy retrieval and analysis, so you can discuss it at your next appointment.
Long-term pain control
StimRouter puts you in control of your pain management using these system components:
External Electric Field Conductor (E-EFC) and Disposable User Patch
The E-EFC is the “brains” of the StimRouter System, sending electrical signals through the skin to the implanted StimRouter lead. The E-EFC can store up to eight custom stimulation programs and provide patients with a variety of treatment options depending on their activity and/or pain level. The E-EFC attaches into the disposable user patch, transmitting stimulation through the patch’s gel electrodes.
Patient Programmer
The patient programmer is an application that can be installed on a Smartphone that can be taken everywhere the patient goes. A wireless connection between the patient programmer and E-EFC allows patients to easily turn stimulation on/off, increase/decrease stimulation intensity, and select from up to eight stored, personalized stimulation programs. The patient programmer display allows patients to monitor and manage their stimulation programs and level of stimulation intensity.
Rx Only. The StimRouter Neuromodulation System is indicated for pain management in adults who have severe intractable chronic pain of peripheral nerve origin, as an adjunct to other modes of therapy (e.g. medications). The StimRouter is not intended to treat pain in the craniofacial region. StimRouter is contraindicated in patients who have any active implanted device such as an implanted demand cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator, or metallic implant in the immediate area intended for implant.
