Boyd’s Story
StimRouter for Chronic Foot Pain
Meet Boyd
As a Coast Guard veteran, Boyd thought his life experiences—such as transporting bombs to Vietnam—meant he could handle most challenges. However, an injury left him with an unexpected obstacle: excruciating foot pain.
While changing a light bulb at church, Boyd felt dizzy and jumped off a chair to avoid falling. He landed on his leg and immediately felt pain that turned into a burning sensation. Diagnosed with nerve damage, Boyd endured months of treatment, including five surgeries. Unfortunately, nothing provided much relief.
Boyd tried to live a normal life, continuing to drive and walk, but the pain grew worse and worse. He became withdrawn and irritable, and he even considered having his leg amputated.
That’s when Clark Larsen, DPM, a foot and ankle specialist at Rocky Mountain Orthopedics of Utah, suggested that Boyd try StimRouter. The results were immediate and now, for the first time in nearly a year, Boyd is living pain-free. When he starts to feel a little pain, Boyd turns on his StimRouter and the discomfort goes away. He is able to sleep through the night, plan trips to Maui and elsewhere, and spend time with family—including his great-grandkids!
“Other veterans can benefit from this technology, and I wish I knew about it sooner,” Boyd says. “People need to know about StimRouter.”
